Flashtool is an open-source tool that allows Sony Xperia owners to easily flash or root their smartphone, and thus take full control of it. By the same token, the program also allows you to install a personalized ROM on your device in order to modify its most advanced characteristics.

Once Flashtool is installed and launched on your computer, connect your smartphone to your machine. This is automatically detected by the program, which then offers you two start-up modes. You can flash your smartphone from a firmware located in the installation directory, or from an image located on the hard disk.
